In the name of refined art, and during a night destined to remain etched in the memory of music and generations to come, Riyadh Season concluded its sixth edition with an extraordinary Tarab concert titled “Laylat Assala,” held under the supervision and patronage of Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority.
The evening starred Assala Nasri, the “Icon of the East,” and was organized and overseen by Rotana Music Group.
The night’s success was summarized by Salem Al Hendi, Chairman and CEO of Rotana Music Group, during the concert’s conclusion, in the presence of Assala and her special guest, Turkish global icon Ebru Gündeş, stating:
“It was truly a magical Laylat Assala — breathtaking and extraordinary. As always, Rotana’s star Assala delivered brilliance, delighting Saudi and Arab audiences alike, whether inside the packed venue or watching live via Rotana TV channels and Rotana FM. This excellence completes the remarkable success of Riyadh Season, shaped by the vision of Turki Al-Sheikh, the world’s leading architect of entertainment.”
Assala echoed his words, adding:
“This is never surprising when it comes from a visionary like Turki Al-Sheikh, who always strives to bring joy and deliver what is unique and exceptional.”
Turki Al-Sheikh also praised the concert on his official social media platforms, writing:
“Assala’s concert was beautiful, and Maestro Tamer Faydi was outstanding.”
The introduction to “Laylat Assala” poetically captured the spirit of the night:
“The Arabs say authenticity is a pure essence untouched by time. Tonight’s lady is a name whose meaning reflects her character — and surpasses it in art, voice, and performance. Assala is a gem that grows brighter with time. Wherever her voice soars, hearts and souls follow.”
Accompanied by a full orchestra led by Maestro Tamer Faydi, and before a sold-out audience at Mohammed Abdo Arena – Emirates NBD, Assala achieved a record-breaking performance, singing in seven dialects and languages — Syrian, Gulf, Egyptian, Turkish, Kurdish, Lebanese, and Moroccan — across six musical segments. She delivered 23 songs and a mawwal, joined by large folklore dance ensembles that enriched the visual and musical experience.
During the concert, Assala revealed that she is preparing, in collaboration with Rotana, to release a Syrian album featuring 14 songs, each representing one of Syria’s governorates. She gifted the audience a new song from the album titled “Arab Dabkeh,” inspired by the folklore of Homs.
The concert opened with “Bil Farah,” followed by “Ya Khali,” which Assala shared held special meaning as she reunited in Riyadh with her uncle after 20 years. Her setlist included: Keifokum, Hadiqat Thalj, So’al Baseet, Kol Al-Tafaseel, Eternal Love (her duet with Majid Al Mohandis), Insan, Ya Majnoun, Ana Bahebbak, Sayyed Al-Gharam, Ba‘dak ‘Anni, Haneen, and the global duet “Akthar” with Ebru Gündeş, in addition to many fan favorites. She closed the night with “Erfa‘ Rasek Fouq.”
Prior to taking the stage, Assala met with media representatives alongside Salem Al Hindi, sharing that the secret to her success lies in commitment and genuine love for her craft, saying:
“I am deeply loyal — and that is the secret of my success in life.”
She also expressed pride in the emotional bond she shares with her audience.
Following the concert, Assala and Ebru Gündeş met backstage, celebrating the massive trending success of “Laylat Assala,” which was commemorated with a photo alongside Salem Al Hendi — documenting a historic artistic moment.
